Pickleball Rotorua
Friday 4th - Sunday 6thOctober,2019
Registrations close:           Midnight on Sept 25th 2019

Rotorua will again be holding our Open Tournament on the first weekend in October - match play will be on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October and the courts will be available for friendly play on the Friday 4th October in the evening, from 7pm - 9:30pm (no additional cost).
The tournament will be held at Rotorua Badminton Hall, 26 Tarewa Place, Rotorua. This facility has 6 indoor badminton courts, with a mezzanine that is ideal for viewing the games. The correct kitchen lines will be marked on the courts. The tournament ball is to be the Indoor jug.
Hall cafe will be open on both Saturday and Sunday, great food, coffee and prices.
Registration desk will be open from 7:00pm on Friday evening or 8:15am on Saturday morning. Tournament briefing at 8:30am on Saturday morning which all players are asked to attend. Play will start promptly at 9:00am.
Preliminary rounds will be Round Robin format, and will be a single game, to 21, or a 25 minute game - whichever comes first. Semi-finals and Finals will be longer games - best of 3 games to 11. Each player will be assigned a mandatory game to score. Score Sheets will be provided for each game, and must be signed by a player from each team upon completion of the game.
There will be 6 categories - Men's, Women's and Mixed, for both 'Open' and 'Super'. The Super Category is exclusively for those that are 60 years of age or over, at the time of the tournament. 60+ players are welcome to play in either the Open or the Super Division but not in both. We will need to get a minimum of 8 pairs in each of the Super Divisions to make it happen, if sufficient numbers are not received, those entries will default to the Open Division. Players are not able to play in both Open and Super Divisions.
Please be sure to record your playing partner name(s) on the form below - we are not providing a service to allocate partners for you as we did last year.
Pickleball is in it's early days in NZ and this Tournament is being run independently from USAPA and PBNZ (Pickleball New Zealand). No rating points can be awarded.
Spaces are limited. Registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
The full draw will be made available a few days prior to the tournament.
The price per person is $35 if playing in a single division, or $60 to play in two divisions. If paid on or before August 31st, this reduces to $25 if playing in a single division, or $40 to play in two divisions as shown below:
